03/23 Adam Green Talks "Hatchet 3":

"Victor Crowley started coming back to life this week and we hit the ground running. By the last week of April we should start filming," Green said. "It's important that I'm there for this, I don't want to just be a producer giving them notes. I'm going to be with them helping make this movie and making sure it stays on track in the way I want it to be and the way BJ wants it to be. I think it's just what the doctor ordered, getting some new blood in the director's chair. Especially with what I went through last time with the movie getting pulled from theaters and that whole thing. Now, to be continuing this story with someone who loves this series and is excited - not that I wouldn't have been excited to come back, but there's something about being a proud parent and watching something bring passion to this. It's amazing to feed off that. One of the things about the second film is that it was so ambitious for the budget, it was half of the budget of the first film, but twice the size. It was really hard to do, but I'm happy with what we pulled off. This film is going to connect with the other two - I don't want to give away too much - but this is like the climatic action finale piece, if you will. We'll learn more about Crowley - who's really pissed off."

Green is currently in pre-production on Hatchet 3 with director BJ McDonnell.

03/21 Bench Dedicated In South Pasadena To Godfather Of The HALLOWEEN film Series:

On Monday, February 27th, the city of South Pasadena, California installed a rare permanent tribute to Halloween producer Moustapha Akkad on a city street where the iconic film was shot in 1978.

Sitting at the corner of Oxley and Fairview (across from the “Strode house”) is a bench, under which a plaque says the following:

In Loving Memory of Moustapha Akkad
Known to the world as the Godfather of the HALLOWEEN film series.
Your Legacy lives on…
Filmed in So. Pasadena 1978

Halloween fan and 2003 25th Anniversary convention organizer Paul Swearingen worked with city of South Pasadena employee Sheila Pautsch to see the project through to completion. “Being a former resident of South Pasadena, where the first movie was made, I knew when someone passed away, the city would, many times, have a bench or tree planted in the park, along with a memorial plaque,” shares Swearingen. “I asked the if we could possibly do it near or on a location where the film was shot, and the city council agreed.”

“I am humbled by the generosity shown by the city of South Pasadena with the memorial to Moustapha,” says Malek Akkad, son of Moustapha, and producer of the last five Halloween films. ”The city was as much a character in the original Halloween as the cast, and this bench is a great way to celebrate our shared history and my father’s legacy. He would have been very proud.”

03/20 New "Dark Shadows" Character Posters:

Synopsis: In the year 1752 Joshua and Naomi Collins, with young son Barnabas, set sail from Liverpool, England, to start a new life in America. But even an ocean was not enough to escape the mysterious curse that has plagued their family. Two decades pass, and Barnabas (Johnny Depp) has the world at his feet — or at least the town of Collinsport, Maine. The master of Collinwood Manor, Barnabas is rich, powerful and an inveterate playboy…until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Brouchard (Eva Green). A witch, in every sense of the word, Angelique dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire and then burying him alive.

Two centuries later Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. The dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better, each harboring their own dark secrets. Matriarch Elizabeth Collins Stoddard (Michelle Pfeiffer) has called upon live-in psychiatrist, Dr. Julia Hoffman (Helena Bonham Carter), to help with her family troubles.

Also residing in the manor are Elizabeth's ne'er-do-well brother, Roger Collins (Jonny Lee Miller); her rebellious teenage daughter, Carolyn Stoddard (Chloe Moretz); and Roger's precocious 10-year-old son, David Collins (Gulliver McGrath). The mystery extends beyond the family to caretaker Willie Loomis, played by Jackie Earle Haley, and David's new nanny, Victoria Winters, played by Bella Heathcote.

Zombie and horror genre fans are familiar with multiple award-winning actor Gerald Webb (Zombie Apocalypse, “Law and Order Los Angeles,” Battle of Los Angeles, Air Collision ), who stars as Lee, a dedicated family man whose quick wit is only matched by his quicker temper.

Sean Huze (The Next Three Days, Green Zone, In the Valley of Elah) rounds out the starring cast as Andy, Mike’s right-hand man and deputy. Andy wrestles with loneliness in this post-apocalyptic world.

Production is set to begin this spring in St. Amant, Louisiana.

Resources are low, and for the first time in over two decades, Mike leads a team to scavenge beyond the protection of the compound. He is joined by Lee (Webb) and Andy (Huze). Unknowingly, they trespass on the property of Curtis Strong, the plantation boss of Rosewood.

Strong has embraced the new world. The residents of Rosewood are his slaves who live in fear of being fed to their late family and friends who have been turned into flesh-eating ghouls. Curtis senses that Stone and his friends are not mere drifters, and he is eager to add them to his group of unwilling subjects. Through fear, torture, and manipulation, he tries to find out the location of Stone Compound from his captives. Can Mike do what is necessary to save his people from becoming Curtis' slaves or, even worse, joining the ranks of the undead?
