It appears Paramount Pictures is on the fast track to a new Friday The 13th sequel.. According to Bloody-Disgusting.com: Actor Derek Mears who played (Jason Voorhees) in the 2009 remake stated;
"I spoke to Brad Fuller and he said that the rights are, as everyone knows, over at Paramount and they’re pushing hard. They’re going we want [a new Friday The 13th movie] as fast as possible."
As most of you know, last week Jason Voorhees went home to Paramount, when Warner Bros. gave up their profit sharing rights to “Friday the 13th franchise” for the next five years as part of a deal to co-produce a Christopher Nolan flick “Interstellar” with Paramount.. This pretty much guaranteed a new sequel..
When asked if he would return as "Jason" Derek Mears said: “I know they [Platinum Dunes] like me and they want me back. Look, even if I’m not a part of the series, as a fan I just want to see more.”
