That 1967 fragment of footage purporting to show Sasquatch striding along a dry riverbed became a key artifact in the cryptozoology community, and Jim dreams of nothing more than setting foot on the actual location where it was shot. His long-suffering girlfriend, Kelly, agrees to tag along for the ride, despite the fact that she thinks Bigfoot has about as much chance of being real as leprechauns.

The two stop off first in Willow Creek, the Bigfoot capital of the world and home to an annual Bigfoot festival, where various locals talk to Jim’s camera, warning them to keep out of the woods, singing ballads about Bigfoot, and generally enjoying their 15 minutes in the spotlight while Jim and Kelly have a blast, cracking wise amidst all the touristy Bigfoot kitsch on display. But when they strap on packs and head into the forest via a two-hour drive down a dirt road, they start to feel like they might be in over their heads. Well, Kelly does, at least. Jim, as he approaches what he considers hallowed ground, is in heaven.

That night they’re awakened by mysterious sounds echoing through the woods, and whooping vocalizations that might be Bigfoot, but that might also be locals screwing with them. Either way, they’re not welcome here and so Jim and Kelly decide to get out come sun-up but, as they quickly discover, it might already be too late, and as the sun goes down for the second time and they find themselves retracing the steps of Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin they discover the truth behind Bigfoot and the disturbing meaning of the term "forest bride."

A new tv spot for Tom Cruise's upcoming alien war flick 'Edge Of Tomorrow', has made their way online... The flick Stars: Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, Charlotte Riley, Jeremy Piven, Charlotte Riley, Jonas Armstrong, Madeleine Mantock, Jonas Armstrong And Bill Paxton...

Based on the Japanese science-fiction novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka 'All You Need Is Kill'.. Directed By: Doug Liman...

Story: In near future a hive-like alien race, called Mimics, have hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, shredding great cities to rubble and leaving millions of human casualties in their wake. No army in the world can match the speed, brutality or seeming prescience of the weaponized Mimic fighters or their telepathic commanders. But now the world’s armies have joined forces for a last stand offensive against the alien horde, with no second chances.

Lt. Col. Bill Cage (Tom Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously demoted and then dropped—untrained and ill-equipped—into what amounts to little more than a suicide mission. Cage is killed within minutes, managing to take an Alpha down with him. But, impossibly, he awakens back at the beginning of the same hellish day, and is forced to fight and die again…and again. Direct physical contact with the alien has thrown him into a time loop—dooming him to live out the same brutal combat over and over.

But with each pass, Cage becomes tougher, smarter, and able to engage the Mimics with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt), who has lain waste to more Mimics than anyone on Earth. As Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated battle becomes an opportunity to find the key to annihilating the alien invaders and saving the Earth..

The film is set for release June 6 2014.. I'm looking for an opening domestic box office take around $34-$38 million dollars...

5.28 'SHOCKER' Star Talks Remake:

For years now there have been rumors going around that Wes Craven's 1989 horror flick 'SHOCKER', was next in line to be remade.. These rumors have been going around since the mid 2000's when it seem like ever flick Craven made was going to be remade..

Recently Arrow In The Head caugth up with actor Peter Berg.. I'm sure you guys remember Berg played Jonathan Parker in the original film..

Berg had this to say: "I'd love to remake it, Wes would direct it; I'd star in it."

"I’d like to redo Shocker just to get the special effects right because we had a real special effects disaster on the film,"

In other interviews Craven talks about the special effect problems in-depth. "The guy who was doing all the visual effects kind of flamed out, had a nervous breakdown because he was attempting more than he could actually do. When he told us towards the end of the movie that not a single one of the special effects was actually working, he was working on a new technique, my son’s job specifically became just to find all the negative. It was all around town in unmarked boxes and under people’s editing [benches]. It was a nightmare itself. We pulled every favor in town to get all those special effects done very quickly, and some of them are pretty sketchy."

I remember seeing Shocker in theaters back in 89, I thought the flick was ok.. But it's not even close to being in my top 10 Craven films..

Original Story: A murderous TV repairman, Horace Pinker is killing people in a small town left, right and center. He eventually finds the home of Lt. Parker, who is investigating his crimes, and savagely murders Parker's wife, son and daughter. Pinker escapes in a horrific spree, killing four officers and then targeting Jonathan's girlfriend, Alison. Another dream leads Jonathan and his dad to a residence where they catch Pinker in in the act of kidnapping. Pinker is arrested after a fight with Jonathan and sentenced to die in the electric chair.

When executed, Pinker - who supposedly had given his soul to the devil in exchange for the power to come back as an energy source - takes over people's bodies and continues committing murders, until Jonathan devises a plan to bring Pinker into the real world, and then cut off his power source...

The Story Of The Peoples Temple:

Founded in 1956 by Jim Jones, the Peoples Temple was a racially integrated church that focused on helping people in need. Jones originally established the Peoples Temple in Indianapolis, Indiana, but then moved it to Redwood Valley, California in 1966. Jones had a vision of a communist community, one in which everyone lived together in harmony and worked for the common good.

He was able to establish this in a small way while in California but he dreamed of establishing a compound outside of the United States. This compound would be fully under his control, allow Peoples Temple members to help others in the area, and be far away from any influence of the United States government...

The Settlement in Guyana:

Jones found a remote location in the South American country of Guyana that fit his needs. In 1973, he leased some land the Guyanese government and had workers begin clearing it of jungle...

Since all building supplies needed to be shipped in to the Jonestown Agricultural Settlement, construction of the site was slow. In early 1977, there were only about 50 people living in the compound and Jones was still in the U.S... However, that all changed when Jones received word that an exposé was about to be printed about him. The exposé article included interviews with ex-members. The night before the article was to be printed, Jim Jones and several hundred Peoples Temple members flew to Guyana and moved into the Jonestown compound...

Congressman Ryan Visits Jonestown:

U.S. Representative Leo Ryan from San Mateo, California heard reports of bad things happening in Jonestown and thus decided to go to Jonestown and find out for himself what was going on. He took along his adviser, an NBC film crew, and a group of concerned relatives of Peoples Temple members. At first, everything looked fine to Ryan and his group. However, that evening, during a big dinner and dance in the pavilion, someone secretly passed a note with the names of a few people who wanted to leave to one of the men from NBC. It then became clear that some people were being held against their will in Jonestown. The following day, November 18, 1978, Ryan announced that he was willing to take anyone who wished to leave back to the United States. Worried about Jones's reaction, only a few people accepted Ryan's offer...

The Attack at the Airport:

When it was time to leave, the Peoples Temple members who had stated they wanted out of Jonestown scrambled on board a truck with Ryan's entourage. Before the truck got far, Ryan, who had decided to stay behind to ensure that there was no one else who wanted to leave, was attacked by a Peoples Temple member.. The assailant failed to cut Ryan's throat, but the incident made it obvious that Ryan and the others were in danger. Ryan then joined the truck and left the compound...

The truck made it safely to the airport, but the planes weren't ready to leave when the group arrived. As they waited, a tractor and trailer pulled up near them. From the trailer, Peoples Temple members popped up and started shooting at Ryan's group... On the tarmac, five people were killed, including Congressman Ryan. Many others were severely wounded...

Mass Suicide at Jonestown: Drinking Poisoned Punch:

Back in Jonestown, Jones ordered everyone to assemble at the pavilion. Once everyone was assembled, Jones spoke to his congregation. He was in a panic and seemed agitated. He was upset that some of his members had left. He acted like things had to happen in a hurry... He told the congregation that there was to be an attack on Ryan's group. He also told them that because of the attack, Jonestown wasn't safe. Jones was sure that the U.S. government would react strongly to the attack on Ryan's group. "[W]hen they start parachuting out of the air, they'll shoot some of our innocent babies," Jones told them...

Jones told his congregation that the only way out was to commit the "revolutionary act" of suicide. One woman spoke up against the idea, but after Jones offered reasons why there was no hope in other options, the crowd spoke out against her. When it was announced that Ryan was dead, Jones became more urgent and more heated. Jones urged the congregation to commit suicide by saying, "If these people land out here, they'll torture some of our children here. They'll torture our people, they'll torture our seniors. We cannot have this."

Jones told everyone to hurry. Large kettles filled with grape flavored Flavor-Aid (not Kool-Aid), cyanide, and Valium were placed in the open-sided pavilion. Babies and children were brought up first. Syringes were used to pour the poisoned juice into their mouths. Mothers then drank some of the poisoned punch... Next went other members. Some members were already dead before others got their drinks. If anyone wasn't cooperative, there were guards with guns and crossbows to encourage them. It took approximately five minutes for each person to die...

On that day, November 18, 1978, 912 people died from drinking the poison, 276 of whom were children. Jones died from a single gunshot wound to the head, but it is unclear whether or not he did this himself... Only a handful or so people survived, either by escaping into the jungle or hiding somewhere in the compound. In total 918 people died, either at the airport or at the Jonestown compound...

It's been a long time since I've been excited for a Tom Cruise flick! The film is Written By: Hiroshi Sakurazaka (Novel), Dante Harper, oby Harold, Alex Kurtzman, Christopher McQuarrie & Roberto Orci..

5.24 Poster/Trailer/Press Release For 'THE PERIPHERY':

Press Release: Seeing Shadows, LLC is excited to announce the world premiere of THE PERIPHERY, a chilling psychological horror-thriller, at the 17th Annual Dances With Films festival on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 9:30PM PDT at TCL Chinese Theatres in Hollywood. The film stars new-comers Kristen StephensonPino, winner of the 2010 Miss Hawaii Young International Pageant, Nick Clark (The Girls Guide to Depravity, MURDERERS), and Andrew Olson (1000 WAYS TO DIE), as well as Myron Natwick (The Unit, MASTERS OF HORROR), along with an amazing cast of industry veterans and up-and-comers alike...

THE PERIPHERY is the feature directorial debut of entertainment attorney Tom Lewis, whose clients include Remington Chase/Envision Entertainment, Carsten Lorenz, and Arclight Films...

"Dances With Films is the perfect fit for the world premiere of THE PERIPHERY. It’s a well-established festival that’s cool and hip, and provides a platform to showcase the artistic value and commercial viability of indie movies of all shapes and sizes,” noted Tom Lewis, the film’s writer/director/producer. “I was blessed to work with an amazing team, and we’ve put together a wickedly cool film that will scare audiences, and leave impressions that will follow them home. At the same time, the film also explores some powerful themes, which will give our audience something to think about."

THE PERIPHERY is an Exorcism-themed psychological horror that follows the plight of teenager Cassie Stevens (StephensonPino), who after surviving a near-death experience in a car crash, finds herself haunted by a shadowy figure she sees from the corner of her eye. While her family and friends dismiss the visions as the result of head trauma from her accident, Cassie is convinced that something has followed her back from the other side of death. As the visions escalate, Cassie’s sanity teeters on a breakdown when she discovers the fate that awaits her – everyone haunted by this specter has committed suicide in some brutal way. When a psychiatrist is unable to help her, Cassie’s only hope is a skeptical priest, Fr. McCready (Clark), who himself harbors doubts about her sanity. But after several mysterious deaths, McCready agrees to perform the only remedy Cassie may have – an Exorcism...

"My clients were actually amazed that I pulled this off,” laughed Lewis. "I literally dove into production just days after closing the bond and production financing for a film I was handling production legal for."

"And they were equally blown away by the film itself,” Lewis added. “Two of my producer clients are combat vets, and they jumped over eight times during a screening I had for them. I had to laugh when they cussed me out during a particularly suspenseful scene."

THE PERIPHERY makes its world premiere on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 9:30PM PDT, at TCL Chinese Theatres, 6801 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, CA 90028...

5.22 DVD/Blu-ray Release Date For 'ALMOST HUMAN':

Press Release: "Aliens, sex, alien sex and other gruesome goings-on are the can’t-miss ingredients for chilling fun in the truly out-there shocker ALMOST HUMAN. The IFC Films theatrical release arrives on fully packed Blu-ray and DVD from IFC Midnight and MPI Media Group on June 17, 2014, with SRPs, respectively, of $29.98 and $24.98.

Two years ago, Mark Fisher (Josh Ethier, Contracted, Scavengers) disappeared from his home in rural Maine in a brilliant flash of otherworldly blue light. His friend Seth Hampton (Graham Skipper, upcoming in Dementia) was the last to see him alive. Now, Seth is having disturbing premonitions that Mark has returned as something other than human. When grisly, violent murders start taking place in the community, Seth and his girlfriend Jen Craven (Vanessa Leigh, The Last Halloween) discover that Mark is indeed back, and that there is something terribly evil inside of him.

Debuting director Joe Begos’ unbearably tense ALMOST HUMAN is a chilling, frenetic and brutal story of survival in the face of unknown terror. Scott Weinberg of FEARnet proclaimed that the film “feels like a ‘throwback’ that’s not a ripoff, and a mild satire that clearly loves the stuff it’s poking fun at.” The New York Times’ Jeannette Catsoulis said the 1980s-set film “projects a blue-collar earthiness that meshes well with its roughened visuals. … [Mark's] preferred mating method is a loathsome hoot.” “A hybrid alien abduction/slasher film that embodies everything awesome about horror in the 1980s – gooey practical effects and all,” raved Matt Donato of We Got This Covered.

ALMOST HUMAN, an Official Selection at the Toronto International Film Festival, comes packed with special features on Blu-ray and DVD, including commentaries, a full-length making-of feature, a look behind the scenes and theatrical trailer."

Writer/Producer Liam O’Donnell (Skyline) will be directing the upcoming flick entitled 'BEYOND SKYLINE', Joshua Cordes will co-write.. Brothers Strause (Greg & Colin) will produce the flick.. We do not know the plot at this time.. But early sales art has made it's way online...

5.21 First Clip For Tom Hammock's 'THE WELL':

Press Release: At the edge of an expansive barren valley, all that remains of The Wallace Farm for Wayward Youth is a few hollowed-out husks of buildings. Seventeen-year-old Kendal (Haley Lu Richardson) can barely recall when the Oregon valley was still lush.

It's been a decade since the last rainfall, and society at large has dried up and blown away. Kendal and the few others that remain barely scrape by, while dreaming of escape. When a greedy water baron lays claim to what little of the precious resource remains underground, Kendal must decide whether to run and hide or bravely fight for the few cherished people and things she has left.

In this finely crafted post-apocalyptic thriller, writer/director Tom Hammock keeps the action firmly grounded in an arid and gritty reality. Drawing on his experience as a production designer and graphic novelist, Hammock creates a convincing world ravaged by environmental disaster, where beliefs demand action and blood is spilled more easily than water.

THE WELL stars Haley Lu Richardson in a breakout role as a young woman with grit, smarts, and an incredible will to survive.

Directed by Tom Hammock (YOU’RE NEXT, THE GUEST, ALL THE BOYS LOVE MANDY LANE) and written by Hammock and Jacob Forman. Produced by Jacob Forman, Seth Caplan, and Chris Harding. Executive produced by Dante Federighi and Billy Federighi. With cinematography by Seamus Tierney, editing by Sarah Broshar and Adam Wingard, and music by Craig DeLeon. A Federighi Films Production.

5.21 New Poster For 'WITCHING & BITCHING':

A new poster for Alex de la Iglesia's 'WITCHING & BITCHING', has landed online.. The film Stars: Hugo Silva, Carolina Bang, Mario Casas, Terele Pávez, Jaime Ordóñez, Gabriel Angel Delgado, Santiago Segura, Macarena Gómez And Pepón Nieto...

Written By: Álex de la Iglesia And Jorge Guerricaechevarría - Directed By: Álex de la Iglesia... IFC Midnight will release the flick into theaters and VOD, June 13...

Story: When a bank heist in the city doesn't all go according to plan, José and Tony find themselves in possession of some hostages and speeding through the mountains of Spain, hoping to quietly slip over the border. Not wanting to give up his custody days to his ex-wife, José has also brought his son along, for both the robbery and the ride. Little do they know that this is only the beginning of their troubles. When they decide to make a stop in a small tavern in the Basque countryside, the group encounters a series of local wackos.

Falling victim to a mysterious spell, they soon find themselves the honored guests of a fractured family of witches who are preparing for an ancient ritual. More colorful characters begin to enter the picture, including a pair of hapless cops hot on the trail, a defecting vixen witch and José's controlling ex-wife, and the situation spirals further out of control, heading towards a jaw-dropping climax.

From its opening moments involving a shootout between a series of street performers in costume (including Minnie Mouse, the Invisible Man and Jesus), it's clear that director Alex de la Iglesia is in top form here. Capturing all the wit of his previous films, but employing a much more streamlined energy, he serves up the laughs, action and thrills in spades. Creative effects and frenetic, tongue-in-cheek jokes make for a visual inventive comedy with plenty of scares and surprises along the way. So grab your iron dentures and sharpened utensils. Dinner is served...

5.21 Update For 'Sleepaway Camp' Remake:

You guys remember back last year when it was announced that 'Sleepaway Camp', would receive the remake treatment when former Fox/New Line executive Jeff Katz optioned the remake rights from the original film's rights holders - writer/director Robert Hiltzik, producer Michele Tatosian, and star Felissa Rose??

Well since that time, we have heard nothing! Last night Fangoria and Scream Factory held a NYC screening of SLEEPAWAY CAMP, along with its original director Robert Hiltzik..

When asked about remake Hiltzik said:

"There were several studios interested in remaking SLEEPAWAY CAMP - But they had their own vision for what that should be, and in the interest of protecting what worked about SLEEPAWAY CAMP, I decided to try to remake the film myself. But whether or not that will actually pan out is still in the air."

"I will say there is another story out there for SLEEPAWAY CAMP that follows RETURN TO SLEEPAWAY CAMP. I ended that movie in a way that didn’t close up the series for a reason," added Hiltzik. "I actually may have some news on a third SLEEPAWAY CAMP film soon so keep an eye out for that."

So does this mean the remake is dead? Probably not, they just lay dormant.. Then jump out on you!!
