At the time that didn't seem to matter to the producers of the flick, Lionsgate was on a fast track to reboot Texas Chainsaw into an all new franchise.. But then nothing - the studio back off from sequel talk till now..

It appears Lionsgate is ready to give Leatherface another go with the chainsaw, but get this.. The flick will not be a sequel to 'Texas Chainsaw 3D', but another damn prequel.. Not only did Legendary Pictures announce yesterday at Comic-Con, that Godzilla will face (KING GHIDORAH, RODAN And MOTHRA), in the upcoming sequel... The studio also let it be known that they are teaming up with Universal Pictures to produce an all new King Kong film - the flick will be titled 'SKULL ISLAND', the release date for the upcoming flick is set for November 4th, 2016...

It's unclear as of right now, if this film will be a sequel to Peter Jackson’s 2005 bloated none-scary Kong flick.. I am guessing not, or I should say I hope not.. Although King Kong 05 was stunning to look at, the film just fell flat and horribly miscast...

Of course rumors have already started that the new King Kong flick will lead up to a Kong vs Godzilla crossover! For that to happen Kong will need to be much much much larger, otherwise he will be squashed by Godzilla..

7.27 Bruce Campbell Gives Update On 'Evil Dead: Series' Kinda:

A couple of days ago Sam Raimi was at Comic-Con, where he delivered the shocking news that he and his brother Ivan, along with Bruce Campbell were working on a TV series/version of 'Evil Dead'..

But it was unclear how involved Bruce Campbell would be, it now appears that Bruce will star in upcoming series.. Last night responding to a fan (Grumpy Bill @DeaditeBill), on twitter:

7.27 'GODZILLA' Sequel Update:

Ok we already knew that Legendary Pictures were moving forward with a sequel to 'Godzilla', and that Gareth Edwards is set to return as the director once he is done with the Star Wars spin off.. But the question has always been, who would Godzilla fight, the humans, more mutos, aliens??

Well yesterday at Comic-Con Legendary Pictures finally revealed that Goodzilla will face - KING GHIDORAH, RODAN And MOTHRA!! So it appears that Toho liked Gareth Edwards version of Godzilla and are confident that he is the right man to handle the franchise..

Leading up to the big announcement a video played, showing teaser images of the three legendary icons - followed by a text that read "Let Them Fight"... The video ended with Godzilla rising out of the ocean and stepping onto Alcatraz releasing his mighty roar!!

Now to be honest, the film is years away, it will probably be at least 2017 before Edwards will start working on the flick.. Keep in mind that many things can change, so take all this new info with a grain of salt...

Ugggg umm ok, for now I am going to file this bit of news under my "I'll believe it when I see it", file.. Sam Raimi was at this year's (Screen Gems panel) Comic-Con, where he delivered the shocking news that he and his brother Ivan, along with Bruce Campbell were working on a TV series/version of 'Evil Dead'... He did not reveal much else and to be honest this could be more bull-shit..

I'm sure all you guys know that Sam and Bruce are notorious for giving out false news when it comes to Evil Dead.. So this could be another one of their bull shit stories.. We will see...

Just a few months ago Director Fede Alvarez told the site ShouldTillYouDrop, that he was still on board for a sequel to his reboot of Evil Dead:

""Sam, Bruce and Rob Tapert and I are good friends and we talk to one another often and we're always coming up with new ideas and projects," he said. "Sam is teasing Army of Darkness 2, which he is working on the script with his brother, but at the same time Evil Dead 2 is something we definitely want to do at some point. But part of the reason I think the last one was successful is because Sam took his time to find the right team of people to do it. We took the time to find the right script and all of that."

"If you had Evil Dead 2 coming out the following year, it's just for the market, not because you've found the right idea. It takes time to find the right idea and that's what we're doing. 7.25 Reboot For 'The X-Files' Maybe:

Hmmmm, ok... It appears that 20th Century Fox {might} be open to bring back The X-Files as a series.. Now to be honest, this is the first time I've heard about this.. I know Chris Carter, David Duchovny and Gillain Anderson have been trying for years to get X-Files 3 off the ground.. But as of now, Fox has been unwilling to bite..

In an interview with Vulture, Chris Carter confirmed that there is a very good chance the series could be rebooted.. Why you might ask.. Dana Walden and Gary Newman (now in charge of Fox Network), were bigwigs at 20th Century Fox TV, back in the series hay day...

"I’m very friendly with Gary and Dana. Dana and I basically cut our teeth at the same time. She was a publicist. It’s nice to go through your career with someone you have respect for and were in the trenches with. Dana and I sat in the same room during the first market testing of The X-Files. She was like a junior publicist, and I was this unproven producer. She was there at the beginning. So I owe her a lot. And certainly she and I have talked a lot about this."

So is the series really happening?

"That’s just a way of saying there certainly have been conversations."

It's not a big shock that Fox is looking to reboot the series when you think about it.. Network just had a very successful run with the reboot of '24' (24: Live Another Day), after a 4 year hiatus.. I really hope the series happens, I am so bored with TV, it full of reality bull-shit..

7.24 Kevin Williamson Talks The Future Of 'Scream':

Over the past few years there has been some rumblings when it comes to 'Scream 5', after the disappointing box office numbers for Scream 4.. It seem very unlikely there would ever be a part 5..

But that is slowly starting to change, we know Harvey Weinstein (Dimension) wants his bother Bob to give the franchise another chance.. And I believe Wes Craven and Neve Campbell would be willing to return and of course know Courteney Cox and David Arquette are in..

But I'm a little surprised that Kevin Williamson seems to be willing to give it another shot, after all this guy has been burn by the Weinstein's more times than I can count.. At this years Television Critics Association Williamson talked about the future of Scream:

"It’s weird, when I pitched Scream 4, I pitched Scream 4, 5 and 6...I pitched a whole new trilogy. I guess Scream 4 never took off in a way they hoped, and so..."

Williamson also stated that if Dimension and the Weinstein's want to end the film series at 6, he already has the story mapped out:

"It’s all here (pointing to his head) and my computer... If they wanna buy it from me!"

Kevin also confirmed that he is not involved at all with the upcoming MTV 'Scream' series in any way... But he is looking forward to checking it out:

"I’m curious. I’ll watch it. I’ll give it a go. Teen Wolf turned out to be a fun romp I enjoy the hell out of that–so maybe MTV’s on a roll and it will be a good, cool thriller..."

For me I enjoyed Scream 4, it was better than part 3.. But it was nothing really to it, just a rehash of the first three films.. The tagline for the flick was "New decade new rules".. But it should have been "New decade same rules"...

Damn things just keep getting better and better for these ladies! According to The Hollywood Reporter: Jen & Sylvia Soska are set to direct a big-screen adaptation for comic book heroine 'Painkiller Jane'.

The story of Painkiller Jane centers around an undercover police officer (Jane) attempting to infiltrate the Mob. After gaining the trust of major mob boss Joey Fonti, she is given the assignment of passing a message on to a rival gang member (Adam), not realizing that an explosive device has been planted on her. As she meets her target, the explosion causes significant injuries, but Adam is uninjured. Through mysterious means, he manages to revive Jane, giving her superhuman regenerative powers in the process. Leaving her life as a police officer behind, she becomes the vigilante Painkiller Jane...

Painkiller Jane first appeared in 1985 as a five-issue mini-series for Event Comics (created by Jimmy Palmiotti and Joe Quesada).. The character went on to pop up in Punisher, Vampirella, Hellboy and her very own television series...

7.22 'Termors' Reboot Update:

Oh crap, looks like another remake is on it's way.. I remember as far back as 2010 there was talk of a reboot for Universal Pictures 'Termors', or even a fifth film... But nothing has ever come of it, till now.. Actor/Director Don Michael Paul has posted on his blog a little update on the long rumored reboot..

After I finish up "Company Of Heroes: The Fourth Reich" I will be headed to Johannesburg, South Africa to reboot the 'Tremors' franchise for Universal. Big year ahead and I’m excited to keep it going with the support of all you genre movie lovers out there..

So according to Don Michael Paul a reboot is very much in the future.. To be honest, I would much prefer a decent sequel.. The original film was fun and creepy with actors that looked like people, you would hang out with.. I'm afraid a reboot will mostly be filled with actors that look like they belong in some models magazine, rather than a desert running from giant worm like creatures...

Wow I thought it would be at least till November, but it appears that Warner Bros will release Gareth Edwards reboot of 'GODZILLA', onto blu-ray/dvd September 16th... I know some people went into Godzilla believing they were about to watch Pacific Rim 2, and of course got all butt-hurt and disappointed when that didn't happen.. And then their are some that just want to bitch and moan, it's clear we live in a world full of cry babies... For me I loved the movie, it took me back to my childhood, felt like I was back at the drive-inn watching the classic Godzilla films!

The Purge: Anarchy took the number two spot, bringing in $29,816,675.. But that number is slightly down from last years $34,058,360 opening for The Purge..

Edge of Tomorrow, Deliver Us From Evil and Godzilla are all three still hanging around.. Edge of Tomorrow grossed $1,103,226, the flick now stands at $96,617,876, it could still hit the $100 million mark domestic... Deliver Us From Evil took in $1,537,715 over the weekend, the film now stands at a disappointing $29,221,465..

Godzilla took in $515,187 up +109.2% from last weekend, the film now stands at $199,019,979.. Godzilla stills has an outside chance to hit $200 million domestically...
