3.27 Stephen Dorff Joins 'LEATHERFACE':

Stephen Dorff (The Gate and Blade) has singed on to star in the upcoming prequel to Tobe Hooper's 1974 classic (The Texas Chain Saw Massacre)... Dorff will play ‘Texas Ranger Hal Hartman...

A while back we told you guys that French filmmakers Alexandre Bustillo and Julian Maury (team behind 2007's extremely brutal flick 'INSIDE') had signed on the direct the next installment of The Texas Chainsaw franchise - titled 'LEATHERFACE'...

Written By: Seth M. Sherwood - The story will center around on a young teenage Leatherface’s and finds the boy on the run from a mental institution with a pack of other maniacs.. The film is being titled 'Leatherface', for now.. Anyways it is not known at this time if Lionsgate will be back to distribute...

Story: A young nurse is kidnapped by four violent teens who escape from a mental hospital and take her on a road trip from hell. Pursued by an equally deranged lawman out for revenge, one of these teens is destined for tragedy and horrors that will destroy his mind, molding him into the monster we now call Leatherface.

I think this is one stupid idea, we don't need a film based on the teenage years of Leatherface, no more than we needed to see a young punk ass Michael Myers running around causing mischief and mayhem... This is nothing but a money grab by the producers and the studio..

But I will say this - if anyone can save this film from being another shit stain on the franchise, it will be Alexandre Bustillo and Julian Maury...
