4.8 TV Series For Dario Argento's 'SUSPIRIA':




France’s Atlantique Productions and Italy’s Cattleya are gearing up to co-development and production a TV series based on Dario Argento's 1977 classic horror thriller 'SUSPIRIA'...

"Suspiria De Profundis will be an English-language period horror series in which the author De Quincey is the lead character. Styled as a new Sherlock Holmes, the story will explore psychological fantasies of evil and attempt to solve fearful mysteries. It will be set in London and Rome at the turn of the 20th century."

Dario Argento will serve as artistic supervisor - "The extraordinary freedom of expression and creativity that modern TV drama now offers and the interest that the public has shown towards it have encouraged me to take a stab at this new genre," said Argento.

The production companies are planning 12 episodes that will run around 50-minutes each, with multiple seasons...

The 1977 film centered around an American dancer (Suzy Bannion) arriving in Freiburg coming from New York to join a famous and expensive ballet school for a three years training. On the next morning, she is informed by the direction of the school that a student she met leaving the place on the previous night was violently murdered and the police is investigating the crime. She becomes friend of another student, Sara, and she realizes that the house is indeed a coven of evil witches...
