This was one hell of a frustrating watch, the movie is so bare bones, I'm not even sure how to write about it.. The film appears to be edited to death, because subplots are brought into the mix and than just disappears..
If you are wondering what exactly 'disappointments room' are.. Apparently a long long time ago, wealthy families would build a special room for a child the parents were disappointed in.. The child would have some type of physical disability so the parents would locked the child up - away from their wealthy society friends..
You would think the story would focus on the room and the paranormal activity that seems to be taking place in and around the room.. But it doesn't, the main focus (if you want to call it that) is on the mother (Beckinsale) and seems to imply that she is just crazy..
Uggg enough! The story is everywhere, and abruptly ends.. So many questions go unanswered.. For the most part this movie is boring.. The most entertaining scene in the flick is when Beckinsale's character goes bat-shit crazy on her husband and another couple..
The Disappointments Room gets a 0% on rotten tomatoes and a 3.9 on imdb, so that should tell you something.. I'm going to give the flick a Grade D..
