I Watched "The Blackcoat's Daughter":

Oh wow, another decent horror flick that didn't come out in the 80s or 90s.. "The Blackcoat's Daughter" The story centers around a couple of young women that get left behind at a all girls Catholic boarding school on winter break as a dark mysterious evil force begins to take hold..

The film was written and directed by Osgood Perkins (the son of screen legend Anthony Perkins) and stars: Kiernan Shipka, Lucy Boynton, Emma Roberts, James Remar and Lauren Holly..

The Blackcoat's Daughter is a dark moody brutal at times psychological horror flick that relies on a good story and an eerie atmosphere (over jump scares), the feel of dread is inescapable in this chiller..

My only real complaint with the film, it does take a bit to get started.. But once the story kicks into gear, you will be on the edge of your seat..

The Blackcoat's Daughter is a top notch horror movie! Grade: A-
