7/12 Review For Stephen Chow's "The Mermaid":

Review by: Stephanie Rayne - Just watched "The Mermaid 2016" directed by Stephen Chow (Kung Fu Hustle) it was a good, light hearted comedy with some notes of save the Earth/ environment to it...

I enjoyed it for the comedy it was and the hints of needing to stop killing the planet without going overboard on it... It is full Chinese, not dubbed over so you have to read captions the whole movie. It's more a slapstick/ physical type comedy with goofy fart jokes (not quite Jay and Silent Bob, but of that line of comedy, just a bit cleaner, less perverted/druggy) and general silly jokes.

In all, given it's meant as a light-hearted comedy and a hint towards save the environment, I give it a B- for what it was. Had the 3rd act been less kill them all because I'm spiteful (you'll have to watch to see what I mean) I would have given it maybe an A-

Brandon 's (Horror Town USA) tastes didn't find the picture or description appealing so he ran for the hills as soon as it started lol...

Plot: Shan, a mermaid, is sent to assassinate Xuan, a developer who threatens the ecosystem of her race, but ends up falling in love with him instead...
