7/13 My Thoughts On "The Bad Batch":

Without spoiling the film: The best way I can describe The Bad Batch - The story centers around a community of cannibals in a future desert wasteland (Mad Max) type setting in Texas.. One thing leads to another, now a muscle bound cannibal (Jason Momoa) must set out to find his daughter with the help from a one legged one arm girl (Suki Waterhouse)..

Honestly that is really what The Bad Batch is about, the first 20 minuets are very entertaining.. But unfortunately, the film ends up being a slow walk through the desert.. At least 30 minuets could have been trimmed from it's nearly 2 hour run-time, without affecting the story in any way..

The best thing about the film is the soundtrack and Keanu Reeves, who plays this 1970s porn star looking cult like leader.. Jim Carrey (almost unrecognizable) also has a small role and is pretty entertaining when he is on screen..

Overall The Bad Batch is an ok time waster, it just could have been so much more.. I was hoping for a Mad Max meets The Hills Have Eyes meets Wolf Creek bat-shit crazy film.. Oh well..

Grade: C+
