THE TOOLBOX MURDERS 2 is not your typical sequel. The bloodthirsty Toolbox Killer is still slicing and dicing victims, but the follow-up to Tobe Hooper’s 2004 TOOLBOX MURDERS remake is an entirely different film, with new characters, a new storyline and a new director. Accomplished makeup-FX-artist-turned-director Dean Jones is determined to set a new standard with this sequel, utilizing a popular genre motif.
“I wanted to create a mystical horror story revolving around a few choice characters, focusing on the inhumanity and suffering of a woman whose faith and will to live are tested beyond average human capability. This woman is transformed into an inhuman but sympathetic character who will survive and kill, but is equally strong. I also wanted to explore this film visually, and make it a sensory experience, using interesting and artistic cinematic techniques.”
