Former child star Haley Joel Osment is taking on a role in an upcoming film inspired by "Frankenstein."
Osment, who shot to fame in "The Sixth Sense" has taken a hiatus from the big screen while attending college, but he's stepping back into the spotlight to play Victor Franklin, a student who tries to reverse death, in "Wake the Dead."
Producer Rob Eric says the 23-year-old has been perfectly cast, telling Variety, "This role allows him to break out of his shell, and he will have no problem handling it."
The film, based on graphic novels by Steve Niles, will be co-produced by former Guns N' Roses guitarist through his new Slasher Films company.
