A couple of years ago news broke, that Will Smith's next project would be a Biblical Vampire Story called "THE LEGEND OF CAIN".. It was to be produced by Smith, his wife and his Overbrook Entertainment partners.. But soon after the announcement Smith turned his attention to MEN IN BLACK III.. So clearly the project had trouble getting off the ground..
Now it seems the project is back on - with Sony Pictures Entertainment, going by the new title THE REDEMPTION OF CAIN. Details are scarce; all we know is that it's somehow mixing the familiar Cain and Abel saga with bloodsuckers. Bizarre, but intriguing. The original script was penned by Caleeb Pinkett (brother of Jada Pinkett-Smith) and Daniel Knauf (the creator of "Carnivale")..
