Uh oh, according to the L.A. Times: The forces behind this year's crap fest 'TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D', are at it again - Latie Grobman and Christa Campbell are looking to remake George A. Romero's 1985 classic 'DAY OF THE DEAD'.. Apparently Campell/Grodman have bought the rights from producers James and Robert Dudelson... The film will be co-produced by Millennium Films, with a budget between $10 million to $20 million..
When asked about the project Campbell said: "We want to keep it as close to the Romero version as possible to make sure that his fans are happy. These are not going to be zombies climbing walls and doing back flips like in 'World War Z.'"
As most of you remember - 'Day Of The Dead', was already remade once by Steve Miner back in 2008 (That ironically co-starred Christa Campbell).. It is one of the worst remakes of all time.. But nothing can top 2005 'Day Of The Dead 2: Contagium', one of the worst horror movies ever made..
1985 Plot: Zombies rule the world, except for a small group of scientists and military personnel who reside in an underground bunker in Florida. The scientists are using the undead in gruesome experiments; much to the chagrin of the military. Finally the military finds that their men have been used in the scientists' experiments, and banish the scientists to the caves that house the Living Dead. Unfortunately, the zombies from above ground have made their way into the bunker...
