8.5 'The Conjuring' Hits $100 Million:

A few weeks back James Wan's "The Conjuring", shocked everyone when the film opened huge, taking in $41,855,326 in its first weekend of release.. The film has now zoomed passed $100 million dollars - currently standing at $107,956,907 at the domestic box office..

So what does this mean? Horror is hot again, after a few dry years - with the success of films like Mama, Evil Dead and now The Conjuring.. It is clear the genre has return in a big way! I can assure you more horror is on the way to the big screen.. I just hope this is a sign that we are slowly moving away from the constant pounding of $200 million dollar budget films that are just about special effects and nothing more..
