5.18 Friday The 13th Creator Talks TV Series:

Last month it was announced that Crystal Lake Entertainment and Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films had signed a deal to produce a new hour long dramatic series based upon the characters and settings of Friday The 13th..

Since the announcement we know the story will center around Jason in multiple time periods and focusing on the eclectic characters of Crystal Lake who are forced to confront the return of the killer, as new secrets about his wacky family are revealed... In a recent interview with B-D.com franchise creator Sean S. Cunningham discuss everything from Jason's aging process - Jason's father and the one and only Tommy Jarvis...

"As we wrestle with the passage of time a new issue became how did Jason age? Did he age at all or is he the same as he was back in the day? Fortunately our special effects team led by Bill Basso, Jordu Schell and Roy Knyrim are on the case. Their work is amazing and the end result is both disturbing and fitting with the story we’re hoping to tell. We will be releasing more information around Comic-Con."

"Questions about Jason’s father and other characters that haven’t yet been introduced represent both an opportunity and a challenge for the writers. Learning more about Jason’s father would certainly qualify as a great opportunity."

And as far as Tommy Jarvis goes? Cunningham (smiles) "I’m sorry. Who? Stay tuned"...

Sean S. Cunningham who directed the original 1980 classic will serve as executive producer along with EFO Films principals Randall Emmett & George Furla, Mark Canton of Atmosphere Entertainment MM, Steve B. Harris of Diversion3 Entertainment, and Ted Fox of Fox Entertainment.

Also producing is Horror Inc. president Robert Barsamian, who produced the features... Jordu Schell (Avatar) and Bill Basso (Terminator) have been tapped to script the storyline.. Roy Knyrim (Gods And Monsters) of SOTA FX will handle the special make-up effects...
