Paramount Pictures has tapped F. Javier Gutierrez to direct 'The Ring 3', after the some what disappointing box office return for 05's The Ring 2.. It did not appear that Paramount wanted to return to the well for a third time..

There is no plot as of right now, Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald will produce.. It is not known if Naomi Watts will return.. For me, I enjoyed 2002's The Ring, I found it pretty creepy at times.. But The Ring 2 was a waste of time, one of the worst sequels I have ever watched..
