After going almost a year without having any real news when it came to the announced upcoming sequel 'UNDERWORLD 5', we now have some major details being reveled..
It now appears Kate Beckinsale will indeed return to the fifth installment of the franchise! Last year there was some doubt if Beckinsale would return, we also learn the film has it's director - Anna Foerster will make her feature film directorial debut...
Last year we learned that the fifth installment of the UNDERWORLD franchise received a new title 'Underworld 5: New Generation', but I'm not sure if that title will stick... At the time it appeared the flick would be released sometime this year.. But now it's looking more likely a release date sometime next year, or 2017...
I'm to glad Kate Beckinsale will return! Back in 2009 a prequel was released Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (without Kate Beckinsale), the film failed to live up boxoffice expectations - bring in $45,802,315 domestically.. Clearly the powers at be realized their mistake because three years later Kate was back! Underworld Awakening brought in $62,321,039 domestically.. These numbers clearly show without Kate Beckinsale, the franchise is dead..
