Rae Dawn Chong has signed on to direct one of the segments for Cruell World Productions upcoming horror anthology flick '7 Magpies'... The project will be the first All African-American Female Written & Directed Horror Anthology films...
Created by L.C. Cruell. Ancient superstitions in many cultures have considered magpies to be a bird of ill omen. According to one old superstition, the number of magpies one sees determines if one will have bad luck or not.
One for sorrow,
Two for mirth,
Three for a wedding,
Four for a birth,
Five for silver,
Six for gold,
Seven for a secret,
Never to be told
Following the themes of this centuries old nursery rhyme. 7 African-American directors (L.C. Cruell, Nicole Renee Simmons, Lary Love Dolley, etc.) will film 7 haunting, unforgettable supernatural/horror shorts based on the works of 7 African-American female horror fiction authors (Linda Addison, Valjeanne Jeffers, Crystal Connor, Eden Royce, Paula Ashe, Sumiko Saulson, etc.) Too many people were wondering if we even existed.
