It appears Francis Ford Coppola will back Victor Salva's upcoming sequel 'JEEPERS CREEPERS 3'... Coppola's American Zoetrope shingle will produce along with Myriad Pictures...
Bloody-Disgusting caught up with writer/director Victor Salva, when asked about the upcoming project - he had this to say:
"Writing and directing a new Jeepers film, the first in over a decade, is incredibly exciting. For me and I believe for Jeepers fans all over the world that have been asking for more. What will go before cameras as Jeepers Creepers 3 is a new and terrifying chapter from the Jeepers universe."
"We are bringing back the Creeper’s truck, and will be addressing the big questions about The Creeper: what it is, where it came from and why it does what it does. More exciting though, this will easily be the most frightening rollercoaster -ride -of- a-Jeepers film that has been made to date."
Jonathan Breck will return as The Creeper and Brandon Smith will return as Sergeant Davis Tubbs... It's unclear if Gina Philips will return, last year Justin Long talked about Jeepers Creepers 3', saying: There is a script (it’s called Jeepers Creepers: Cathedral), Long revealed that Gina Philips would once again play the lead in it (Trish).. It’s been tough getting off the ground, financially, unfortunately...
I'm not really sure why Victor Salva is having trouble getting the film financed, both previous flicks were successful at the box office... If you guys remember back in 2013 some actor named Fox Langenkamp posted on twitter that he was cast in Jeepers Creepers 3 and the film was pretty much finished...
For me I remember reading reports back in 2011 that filming was underway, but nothing ever came of it and talk of the the film went away.. I found a 2012 article from ' The Wall Street Journal', that stated the filmmakers were still trying to get their budget together and looking to film in Mississippi.. But no start date was given...
