Casting Update For 'Masters Of The Universe' Reboot?

Have we finally found our He-Man for the upcoming 'Masters Of The Universe' reboot? Four time Mr. Universe Mike O'Hearn has hinted that he may be the next He-Man or at least in the film.. O'Hearn took to Instragram and posted:

"My Goal: Take off 30 pounds of lean muscle and get a whole new physique to get ready for the movie #HeMan!!"

Now of course the studio (Sony Pictures) has not made any announcement, so till that happens - you have to take any kind of news, with a grain of salt.. But if this bit of news holds up, its unclear what role O'Hearn will play, being 46.. He might be a little to old to play He-Man..

Back in Augest Sony tapped Christopher Yost (Thor) to re-write the scrip for the upcoming reboot of 'Masters Of The Universe'... Earlier this year it seemed the project had finally gain some traction after years of rumors - when Senior Vice President of Productions for Columbia Pictures 'DeVon Franklin took to twitter and posted the concept art for He-Man's trusty armor sidekick (Battle Cat)...

He also announced that Jeff Wadlow (Kick-Ass 2) script was finished - but once Tom Rothman (Chairman) replaced Amy Pascal over at Sony Pictures it appeared the film was put on the back burner..

The only time He-Man made it on to the big screen was back in 1987, the film has become a cult classic.. But at the time it was a huge box-office bomb, mainly due to He-Man losing most of his popularity by 87 and the film being very low budget... Much of the story takes place on Earth and centers around a couple of teens - The big highlight of the flick was Frank Langella as Skeletor...

Cast: Dolph Lundgren (as He-Man), Meg Foster (as Evil-Lyn), Jon Cypher (as Duncan Man-at-Arms), Chelsea Field (as Teela), Billy Barty (as Gwildor), Courteney Cox (as Julie Winston) and of course Frank Langella (as Skeletor)...

1983 animated series story: In a distant and mystical land, wimpy Prince Adam leads the life of royalty. Unknown to all but a few close friends/allies, Prince Adam is actually a hero, the mighty He-Man.

Together with his friends, (such as Teela; her father, a man-at-arms; mysterious Orko and his mighty friend/horse substitute Battle Cat), He-Man battles the evil Skeletor and his minions for control of the world, and, more importantly, for the control, power and "honor of Greyskull," the mysterious castle from which He-Man derives his powers...
