It appears Robert Rodriguez has signed on to direct the upcoming reboot of John Carpenter's 1981 classic "Escape from New York".. From I understand this will NOT be a straight up remake, the story will focus more on Snake Plissken's early life..
As far as casting a new Plissken, who knows - I just hope Rodriguez will go with an unknown..
