9/6 My Thoughts On "It Comes At Night":

It comes At Night' should actually be re-titled It Comes Whenever The Hell It Wants Too: The story centers around an unnatural threat that has apparently terrorizes the world - but we don't really know that.. As a matter of fact at the end of the film we are left with zero answers.. Anyways..

A man, his wife and son are living in an isolated cabin trying to survive this deadly unseen force, disease.. They decide to take in a young desperate family, things go downhill from there..

This was one hell of a frustrating watch! If you liked the film, that's fine.. But I really didn't care for this one - It comes At Night' plays out like a wannabe M. Night Shyamalan flick with poor results..

I enjoyed about the first 30 mins of the film, I found it very creepy.. But once the second family enters the picture, the flick slowly becomes an unbearably mess loaded with (nightmares) jump scares and gushing plot holes..

It Comes At Night' has somewhat of the same vibe as The Witch, both films are slow burns - The Witch builds up to a shocking end.. While this film just kind of fizzles out..

Overall I thought the acting was good, to bad the cast was stuck with this script.. At times I thought atmosphere was very eerie.. But that's about it..

Grade: D+

Written and Directed By: Trey Edward Shults - Cast: Joel Edgerton, Christopher Abbott, Riley Keough, Kelvin Harrison Jr. and Carmen Ejogo..
