My Thoughts On 'Death Wish (2018)'

Death Wish (2018) is a reboot of the 1974 classic film, based on the novel by Brian Garfield.
?
The film centers around trauma surgeon Dr. Paul Kersey (Bruce Willis).. Kersey is a devoted husband and father - one night his daughter (Camila Morrone) and wife (Elisabeth Shue) are brutally attacked in their home by a gang of thugs..

Growing frustrated with the police investigation Kersey decides to take matters into his own hands, and deliver his own brand of justice..

Overall I thought Death Wish was a pretty solid flick, it's one of those movies I think could bore some moviegoers.. It's not wall to wall action pack like John Wick.. The film takes its time setting up Paul Kersey. Going from an easy-going doctor to a stone cold killer known as the 'Grim Reaper' takes a little time..

This is by far one of Eil Roth's best films, he doesn't go crazy with brutal violence towards women, there are a couple of good gore scenes.. One scene involving a bowling ball is a bit silly, it didn't really take me out of the movie. But it did make me wonder why it was in the film..

The acting by Bruce Willis, Vincent D'Onofrio who plays Paul Kersey's brother (Frank Kersey), Dean Norris (Detective Kevin Raines) and Kimberly Elise (Detective Leonore Jackson) are all very good in their roles..

I was a little worried Bruce Willis would come across as bored, as he has been known to do..

I'm going to give the flick 7.5 out of 10
