Summer Of 84' is not a blood and guts type of horror movie it's more of a mystery in the same vein as Disturbia and Rear Window.
The story centers around teenager Davey Armstrong who is a bit of a conspiracy theorist. When Davey begins to suspect his neighbor Wayne Mackey (who happens to be a cop) is a serial killer. Davey convinces his group of buddies Dale 'Woody' Woodworth, Tommy 'Eats' Eaton, Curtis Farraday, and Nikki Kaszuba to help him prove officer Mackey's guilt.
Overall I thought 'Summer Of 84' was an excellent flick with a strong cast and an interesting story.
Undoubtedly the film will unfairly be compared to last years 'IT' and Stranger Things. There is no supernatural killer clown or upside down alternate dimensions, the film is a modest mystery suspense thriller.
