04/19 Remake News: Jaime King Has Been Cast In "Silent Night, Deadly Night"

From the Press Release: "Heart of Dixie"’s Jaime King will star alongside Malcolm McDowell in the upcoming horror remake SILENT NIGHT helmed by Steven C. Miller (The Aggression Scale) and produced by The Genre Company and Buffalo Gal Pictures. Media House Capital will co-finance production, set to begin next week in Winnipeg. The project was recently announced by Anchor Bay Films and Inferno Entertainment’s new Ember label.

King, whose past films include My Bloody Valentine and Sin City, will play Aubrey Bradimore, a Deputy Sheriff who battles the killer Santa Claus terrorizing her small Midwestern town. Fellow genre veterans Donal Logue (Shark Night 3D), Jamie Kennedy (Scream), Brendan Fehr (Final Destination), Lisa Marie (Sleepy Hollow), and Ellen Wong (Scott Pilgrim vs the World) have come aboard in supporting roles.

Vancouver-based Media House Capital, a senior debt lender to the global film industry, is providing financing against foreign sales. MHC’s managing director Aaron L. Gilbert will executive produce, with colleagues Margot Hand and Patrick Murray co-executive producing. Current MHC projects in production or post-production include Decoding Annie Parker, The English Teacher, Bomb, and A Single Shot.

SILENT NIGHT reteams King with The Genre Company following the Darren Lynn Bousman-directed Mother’s Day, set for release by Anchor Bay Films in May.

As previously announced, Steve Ruff and Thomas M. Kastelz of Empire Film & Entertainment Group will executive produce along with Jayson Rothwell and Gary Preisler. Armen Aghaiaen and D.J. Gugenheim will co-produce.
