It appears there is finally some movement regarding the long forgotten sequel to '28 Weeks Later', the project has been "on" then "off" - for years.. In a recent interview with IGN screenwriter Alex Garland told the site that sequel talk was finally being taking serious...
"We’ve just started talking about it seriously.. We’ve got an idea. Danny [Boyle] and [producer] Andrew [Macdonald] and I have been having quite serious conversations about it so it is a possibility. It’s complicated. There’s a whole bunch of reasons why it’s complicated, which are boring so I won’t go into, but there’s a possibility."
When it comes to a title change Garland told the site: "It’s more likely to be 28 Months than 28 Years, 28 Years gives you one more place to go. 28 Decades is probably taking the piss.."
It's been almost 8 years since 28 Weeks Later made it's way onto the big screen, at the time the flick received mostly positive reviews - but somewhat poor boxoffice numbers..
