1.17 Update For The Big Screen Adaptation Of Stephen King's 'IT':

Do you guys remember a while back, when it was announced that a BIG screen adaptation of Stephen King's 'IT', was in the works? Yes, no? Well since then we have heard little to no news, till now.. In a recent interview with EW, Producer Seth Grahame-Smith finally gave an update on the upcoming project..

"I think that if anything, [the new film] will bring back some of the viciousness of the book that they couldn’t do with the miniseries because it was for broadcast... I think it’s going to be very scary, but I also feel like you’ve got Cary who is going to direct these kids—and he’s incredible at casting, incredible at shooting.

He’s incredible with tone and atmosphere. One of the things I wanted to do is be a part of one of the really good King adaptations. As we know, there is an echelon of King adaptations that are classics. There are some that are okay. There are some that we’d rather forget."

When it comes to where things stand with the script and when the project might start filming - the producer had this to say: "We’re going to get a draft, what is supposed to be the shooting [script], any day now from Cary and his writing partner...

We’re doing a deal for them to write the second movie. Our hope is to prep sometime in the next few months and shoot in the summer. That one is as much on the runway as we can possibly be. I know New Line is ready to go."

Story: In the Town of Derry, the local kids are disappearing one by one, leaving behind torn body parts/remains. Soon afterwards, in a place known as 'The Barrens', a group of seven kids are united by their horrifying and strange encounters with a clown called Pennywise, which they all share, but one kid, Bill Denborough, has a more personal vendetta with the clown.

27 years after their last encounter together with Pennywise, the 'Losers Club' has regrouped from their successful lives and businesses by Mike Hanlon, the only member of the Losers Club that stayed in Derry, because IT has returned, and kids are disappearing again. The only problem is that they have all forgotten what occurred that summer. But through a blood oath, they return. It's up to The Lucky Seven to regain their memories, to think of the key to killing Pennywise, and to stay alive long enough to end his tyranny but to also realise what brought them together in the first place.

The 1990 Mini-Series starred: John Ritter, Richard Thomas, Jonathan Brandis, Adam Faraizl, Brandon Crane, Emily Perkins, Marlon Taylor, Tim Reid, Annette O'Toole, Seth Green, Harry Anderson, Richard Masur, Chelan Simmons, Ben Heller, Dennis Christopher and Tim Curry..
