1.17 Update For 'GREMLINS' Reboot/Sequel:

In a recent interview with EW, not only did Producer Seth Grahame-Smith give a new update on the upcoming BIG screen adaptation of Stephen King's 'IT', he also gave new details on the once talked about (reboot/sequel?) of the 1984 horror/comedy classic 'Gremlins'.. And it's not good news, it appears as of right now the project is dead...

"It was a completely different cast of characters, but acknowledging the events of the first two movies…I think we just ran out of steam. It’s one of those things where everybody got busy doing other things. It’s something I would love to come back to, but right now Steven’s making two movies back to back and Chris Columbus is busy. We’re all taking a five-minute break on that."

I am surprised it is taking this long to get a new Gremlins made, after all in 1984 the original film brought in $148,168,459 million on a $11 million dollar budget.. In 1990 the sequel did not do as well, only pulling in $41,482,207 million...

I still believe we will see Gremlins on the big screen, one day.. I just hope Spielberg the studio and Chris Columbus go for a more darker tone.. Many of you know 'Chris Columbus’ original script was definitely more of a horror film than comedy.. His original version had the Gremlins killing the dog and cutting off the mom’s head and tossing it down the stairs..
