My Thoughts On 'Gerald's Game'

Gerald's Game' Directed by Mike Flanagan: The story centers around a middle aged couple (Jessie and Gerald) taking a road trip to a remote lake house in hopes of spicing up their failing marriage..

Things go horribly wrong when Gerald has a heart attack leaving Jessie handcuffed to their bed frame.. With no one coming to help Jessie must find a way to survive and come to terms with her own internal demons.

My Thoughts: I enjoyed this film, but didn't love it.. I know it's getting a lot of praise, but I thought it was just ok.. The main problem I had with the film was about the last 15 mins, it was just flat to me..

Btw there is one scene that is brutally cringey, I actually had to turn my head. Believe me that doesn't happen very often with me. And there are a couple of scenes that are pretty eerie as well.

Over all the acting was awesome, there are really only three main characters: Carla Gugino as Jessie, Bruce Greenwood as Gerald and Henry Thomas as Tom.. All three gave strong performances.

Positives: Strong acting, some pretty creepy eerie scenes.

Negatives: Did not love the ending, at times it felt like a Lifetime movie.

Rating: ★★★☆☆
