Watched The Giant Spider Flick 'STING':

Okay so I Watched the 2024 Australian creature feature 'STING' the other night.
I actually bought the digital copy a few days ago from Vudu for only $5 bucks. I have always been a fan of these type of films but yeah even an I can admit they are pretty hit or miss.

So is Sting a hit or another miss? I can assure you the film is not only a hit but a solid inside the park home run for the genre!!

Filmed in Sydney and New South Wales, Australia. The Story centers around an alien spider creature thing crashing into an Apartment building in New York City one winter night.

When 12-year-old Charlotte discovers the usual spider she decides to secretly raises it as a pet. Each time Charlotte feeds her new pet spider it grows at a rapid rate quickly transforms into a giant, flesh-eating monster.

Charlotte quickly realizes if she wants to survive she must find a way to defeat her once pet.

Sting is an old fashioned giant monster Creature Feature kind of like a throwback to the 1950, 60s, 70s and early 80s back when films of this type of genre didn't take themselves to serious.

The flick deliveries strong special effects via Wētā Workshop along with good performances coming from Australian actors Ryan Corr, Alyla Browne, Penelope Mitchell, Robyn Nevin and Noni Hazelhurst, With Comedian Jermaine Fow (Washington, D.C's) rounding out the cast.

As far as budget goes I can't imagine being to over the top because the film was produced primary by Australian production companies Screen Australia and Screen NSW.. So my guess would be $2 to $4 million dollars? Maybe

The film is currently streaming on Disney Plus and Hulu so if you get a chance definitely check it out especially if you are a fan monster movies..
