So the wife and I finally, finally , finally watched Eli Roth's 'Thanksgiving' last night. We have been dying to see this flick every since it hit theaters last year heck actually I've been wanting to see this flick every since the
Mock/fake trailer first appeared in Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino 2007's 'GRINDHOUSE' double feature.
As far back as 2007 Eli Roth talked about turning the fake trailer into a feature film. It took 15 years for the film to finally become a reality.
Like I said I've been waiting all these years to see this film unfortunately with all our doctor appointments and just being sick we never got the chance to see the film on the big screen of course once the film landed on Blu-ray at the beginning of this year I couldn't wait to pick up a copy.
My younger brother actually beat me to it and bought the film for me. I decided not to watch the film then because wanted to see the film for the first time on Thanksgiving and watching a horror movie that centers around on Thanksgiving just wouldn't be any fun, right?
So I resisted the urge and waited and waited till Thanksgiving night To finally watch the film soooo was it worth the longgggg wait? You better believe it! The wife and I both loved every minute of the film...
Eli Roth's 'Thanksgiving' is a throwback to the old slasher movie of the 80s! The film had sold acting and was pretty sweet with the gore and the kills. What I loved about the flick it really showed how this TikTok, Instagram generation are just so self absorbed with themselves. And no I'm not just calling out young people I've seen people my age who are just as bad if not worse.
Anyways the story centers around a mob of BLACK FRIDAY Shoppers gathers outside the town's local Walmart I mean RightMart in hopes of getting a few pennies off of TVs and other junk no one really needs.
The mob stampede ends up leaving to several injuries and death. One year later A mysterious maniac who dresses like a Thanksgiving Pilgrim starts brutally terrorizing the residents of Plymouth, Massachusetts, picking off victims one by one.
Thanksgiving 🦃 is easily Eli Roth's best film in years in my opinion of course. Like I said at the beginning my little review the film has sold acting a good old fashioned slasher storyline, the film doesn't try to be more than a good horror film.
The kills are good and the special effects is solid but the most positive I can say about the film the villain. The killer is actually interesting. Thanksgiving is a sold grand slam for Roth and an awesome return to horror for Eli Roth 🎩⛏️
10 out of 10 🦃 for the film! If you haven't seen it definitely check it out and give the film a chance.
And that friend's is the bottom line Gobble Gobble
